Challenge from Cris!

After my post from The Diva's boo*kee challenge, Cris from Tangled Up In Art suggested I complete the circle with 3 more tiles. Thanks Cris, I hadn't tangled a 4 tile ensemble for a while and it was truly fun on the new renaissance tiles.

Tied Up With String

All tied up with string and feeling festive.

These tiles reminded me of fancy ribbons, bows and stringy bits that you tie on top of gifts.

Thank you for stopping by, hope you are enjoying the season and feeling jolly!!

Boo*Kee

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #147: "UMT v. XXIII - Boo*Kee"

Laura's own snazzy tangle boo*kee is our featured tangle this week and I am loving the new Zentangle Renaissance Tiles. The colour is a beautiful tan so my favourite sepia brown pen (which looks a bit red) and the white gelly roll adds another dimension to our Zentangle art.

For our Aussie tanglers the new Zentangle Renaissance Tiles and pens will be in stock about the middle of this month.

Pea-nuckle/well

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #146: DuoTangle Pea-nuckle/Well

My first thought was 'oh tricky combination' so just began with a simple wonky square string and decided not to think to hard about how these two tangles would fit together. Fun!!

Stitched up!

Just a quick post today, have you tried tangling ona?  This is a beaut little tangle by José Meeusen of The Netherlands, it makes a delightful border.

It's a keeper

Thank you for all your encouragement and support for my mak-rah mee! It seems to be a keeper!!
Thanks Linda for posting it on TanglePatterns.com

For the last few weeks I have been 'Grandmas Help' at Heidi and Samuel's school, with groups of enthusiastic 7 -11 year olds learning to tangle. The wonderful aspect that I found has been the encouragement they have given each other. If a student said "I can't do that" someone else always said "Yes you can, that looks good". I love that!

It's a Bugs Life

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #144: A Bug's Life
When I first found Zentangle I often coloured poke root with a touch of red, with this in mind I decided to hide my bugs amongst ripe berries.

New tangle or tangleation?

What do you think.....is this a new tangle or a tangleation of keeko? It starts with keeko but reminds me of the knots in macramé. Years ago I loved making macramé pot plant hangers and wall hangings so I thought a good name might be mak-rah-mee (the pronunciation from the dictionary).

You can just do one knot or add as many as you like in lines or random over your tile. Loop, tie, weave and tangle. A fun way to get yourself in a knot!

Cruze

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #143: "UMT v.XXII - Cruze"

Cruising with cruze! This is such a super tangle so I was quite happy when it came up for The Diva's challenge, after playing with it last week I wanted to try it again.

Have you tried Ona, it is a fun tangle from José Meeusen of The Netherlands.

Just Tangling

Time to take a deep breath, slow down and just tangle. Better than a pill!

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #142: "Comfort/Danger Zone"

Ok, so we are to step away from tangling for comfort but test our pens and pencils at something that we pass over and say 'I'll do that later, it looks to difficult'. I have a feeling we might see many black tiles with this challenge. I have had a new pack of blank black tiles hidden in my box for this very occasion. A couple of tangles that I have been wanting to try are snugz by Terri Brown and cruze by Caren Mlot. Oh, both these tangles are fabulous, not as tricky as they look and such fun.
Thanks Laura for urging me to open the pack of black tiles.

Joshua and Nan's wedding ceremony was held in The Launceston City Park.
We enjoyed a fantastic sparkly and sunny day with laughs, tears and many hugs.

Fengle/Quandary

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #141: DuoTangle - Fengle/Quandary

For this weeks challenge I chose an off cut piece of paper that was just to good to toss. Fengle has been on my list of tangles to get back to so this challenge came at just the right time. Thanks Laura.

Four with finery

Sometimes I see tiles on my work table that seem to fall into a group like these four that fit into the back to basics category and contain (another favourite) tangle finery.

8s Parte Dos

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #139: UMT vXXI "8s Parte Dos" by Jane Eileen

Jane's tangle 8s Parte Dos has been added to my favourites list, I really enjoy this type of tangle where the curved lines sneak in, out and under. Yes, I made a couple of small whoopsies so Bronx cheer came in handy to cover up the odd lines.

Zentangle in Stitches

My good friend Liz Bulman is a whizz with her sewing machine, she can whip up curtains in a flash or turn her creativity into fantastic pieces of art. When her copy of Suzanne McNeill's book Zen-sational Stitches for Quilting arrived she was soon inspired by Kayleen Allen's apples and Sue Needle's wall hanging.

Fun with Borders

The Diva's Weekly Challenge #138: "Fun with Borders"

The braiding on a bag took my eye for the first border.
