Nzeppel

9cm x 9cm tile

Nzeppel is one of my favourite tangles so I chose it for my challenge of only using one tangle, this was great fun!

Brighton Jetty

9cm x 9cm tile

The Brighton jetty isn't this wobbly, it is quite straight, I just like wobbly lines.

Calm settled over the bay

9cm x 9cm tile

Late yesterday afternoon the wind dropped and a beautiful calm settled over Holdfast Bay. A campfire scented the air with woodsmoke, the sun gently shone through the clouds. The water sparkled and the world felt just right.

A celebration of laziness

9cm x 9cm tile

I read that line in a book once, can't remember the book or who wrote it but often think what a wonderful way to describe a quiet moment.

Touching base

9cm x9cm tile
Rick from Zentangle has recommended we touch base and relax with a simple string and some old favourite tangles. A sunny Sunday was a perfect time to settle down with a pen and tile.

Spirit Guide

9cm x 9cm tile

It was part of our destiny to be home last weekend. Just out of the blue we were told to pack a bag, our seats were booked for a flight home for the weekend. As we had been away for 6 weeks this was a treat and for the fact it was Father's Day (here in Australia) we were happy to see the family.
After arriving home Paul received a message to visit our friend Kim in hospital. Kim and Paul have been friends since there teenage years sharing a great love for motorbikes but Kim's life challenge began when he became a quadraplegic after crashing his motorbike at only 17.
They still enjoyed many adventures together and with Kim's determination he bought another motorbike and attached a sidecar.
Kim also beacme an accomplished artist and developed a love for the American Indians which he would paint with a stiple effect.
Saturday afternoon Paul was fortunate to spend time with Kim going over the old days. Kim passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 55.
I believe Kim's will and his Spirit Guide made sure we were home last weekend, we were able to stay and Paul rode Kim's bike with pride to his funeral. It was Kim's wish.

One life

9cm x 9cm tile

This poem has been one of my favourites since I was 17.

One Life by Walter Rinder

There are countless paths of knowledge
There are many ways to give
There are endless hopes to dream of
There is only one life for us to live

Don't waste your time in sorrow
Jealousy or pain
Pity envy depression
Or things that are the same

Every year that we get older
More often you here people say
I wished I would have, I should have done
I just wasted another day.

Knowing when to stop

9cm x 9cm tile
Is there a secret to knowing when to stop?
when to stop talking to much
when to stop spending to much
when to stop eating to much
when to stop drawing that extra swirl, circle or line?
